Valentine's Day Sucks (Without You)

Today is Valentine's Day, and I am all alone without my beloved Domcat Ludwig. For years I couldn't celebrate Valentine's Day because I didn't have anyone to celebrate with. Now I have found my mate, but I'm still alone on Valentine's Day. Dachshunds don't like being alone, you know. Going for a walk alone is boring! Even more so, because there is no one who wants to join in the game with that funny stick. Playing alone doesn't bring any fun.

Luckily it won't take too long until Ludwig and I are going to be reunited. Then I will be happily wagging my tail again. And maybe we will have a belated Valentine's Day celebration?! No, not with chocolate and all that commercial stuff. Chocolate isn't good for little doggies, anyway. But maybe we will play a bit with that stick? Or maybe Ludwig will just use his beautiful paws? Is it allowed to dream of a blindfold? Well, it's not so important, as long as we are going to be side by side again.

A Happy Valentine's Day to all of you who are lucky enough to celebrate this day with their beloved one(s). And a big hug to all those who like me have to wait until they can be with their mate again. The most important greetings, though, go to those who are still looking for or maybe had once already found Mr or Mrs Right. No matter how our reality looks like, dreaming is always allowed! So, why not dream a bit? How would your perfect kinky Valentine's Day look like?

That cat and dog photo is absolutely adorable!

I hope you won't have to wait TOO long before you see each other.

@ all: Thank you all for your regards. Although Kaelah and I were not able to spend Valentine's Day together this year, we were on the phone, had a nice chat, and told each other how much we love each other. It won't be too long before we see each other again.

To be honest (and Kaelah knows this), I have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day and the like, anyway. They start out as nice ideas, but they quickly and inevitably turn into what they are today - yet more instances of commercial hype designed to make us buy overpriced gifts. Not that there is anything wrong with trying to stimulate the economy. But in an ideal world, we would not need Valentine's Day, Mother's Day etc., anyway. We would all care about our loved ones enough to take time for them and spend a nice day together once in a while without needing institutionalised enticement.

@ My Dachshund: Don't worry, you will get a belated Valentine's Day spanking with all the special treatments you desire.

Thank you! Gladly I won't have to wait too long before I meet Ludwig again. :-)

@ Erica:
I've almost made it through, now it won't take long before I meet Ludwig again! Thanks for your lovely comment and I hope that John's knee will be better soon as well, so that the two of you can have a celebration, too.

@ !:
Ludwig started to send me pictures of cats and dogs in order to cheer me up while we are apart. I decided to look for pictures, too, and when I came across that one I couldn't resist to post it! Especially because it shows indeed a little dachshund next to that cute cat.

@ Ludwig:
I absolutely agree with you about the commercial aspect! And of course one shouldn't need special days in order to care for loved ones. I still like those special days for several reasons, though. One is that it is nice to be reminded of the beautiful things in life and to be invited to take a short break from the stress that often comes with everyday life in order to celebrate. Secondly I am a fan of rituals, and holidays can offer some special rituals to look forward to. And, last but not least, even though I am pretty individualistic most of the time, I somehow like the thought that there are times when many people celebrate a certain wonderful aspect of our life all over the world. Whether that is Valentine's Day, the start of a New Year or Love Our Lurkers Day, it makes me feel like I belong to a larger community in which people share certain dreams, hopes and ideas.

I'm looking forward the time we will soon have together! :-) No matter whether there will be a belated Valentine's Day celebration or not. All that counts for me is being with you.

@Kaelah

lovely picture of the two animals, I know a similar twosome.

The stick in your mouth reminded me of a spanking site, where the stick was not put to the obvious use, but master and doggie played a fetching game where the number of spanks depended on the speed of the doggie retrieving the stick :-). Of course, master always hurled it into the corner where doggie was nearly unable to retrieve it with her snout only. Using paws meant more spanks, of course.

Sounds like an interesting game! And like a good way to lose some weight... ;-)
