K-Day is coming!

The door to another world,
do you dare open it?
And will you finally cross the threshold?
Once the door is open there is no way back!

Once through, our past will seem like a mere shadow.

This post is not about Fiona Locke. It is not about foxes with a fetish. It is about an altogether different mystery. The mystery of kay. In her own way, of course, kay is a fox, too. And a tigercat. And a dachshund. And a writer.

Are my readers as prescient as I would like to think? Search the past. Search and you shall find. Next week, it will be too late. I must be unusually brief today because I am on the verge of great things. Finally, almost there. I hope that you will be with me when the time comes.

K-Day is coming. July 29th, 2009. Be ready.

(Fancy a competition? Here's all you need to do to take part: leave a comment and write down your interpretation of what "K-day", the poem, the picture and the cryptic text mean - what in goodness' name am I rambling on about in this post? The reader with the most interesting, most artful theory wins. I will judge myself what constitutes "most interesting" and "most artful". I'll be subjective, but I'll be fair. It doesn't matter whether you're a long-time friend of mine or a first-time poster. All that matters is the idea(s) you come up with. Needless to say, I expect you to be fair as well - only one ID per person! Emails don't count, only comments, and it is your first comment / first theory that counts. The competition closes at midnight on Tuesday the 28th - right at the beginning of "K-day"!)

(The winner gets a free one-month membership to Bars and Stripes, the definitive "women in prison" spanking site featuring models like Leia-Ann Woods, Amelia-Jane Rutherford and Kami Robertson. You can read my review of the site here. My many thanks to The Governor for sponsoring this competition.)

What time on 29 July? I'm packing my aluminium foil hat just in case but I need to know the exact time.

I drew a single card from my tarot deck to perhaps give me a clue. It was the Hermit, auguring "a period of contemplation, a search for wisdom, isolation and withdrawal from the world, possibly an indicator of corruptive forces." But the card was reversed. Hmmm.

Corruptive forces, on Ludwig's blog? Certainly not!
I'll have to give this K thing some thought, so this doesn't count as my contest entry, O Teutonic One.

Deduction, my dear Ludwig, mere deduction. The key to Kay is the well intended search for the Doorway to Summer resulting in man's knowledge dragging us to the threshold of a galactic and ageless madness.

Of course this poem is a tragic car wreck of Heinlein and Lovecraft.

Robert Heinlein was kept by a cat that, during a winter, had a habit of nudging open doors and windows, but finding the outside frigid, retreated to try another portal, only to discover the same cold outside. Heinlein, a logical being, announced the cat's silliness. Heinlein's wife corrected him, and told her foolish husband that the cat was simply looking for the door that led to summer instead of all the ones that led to bitter winter.

A charming tale, but like all charming tales, it leads to horror.

We, as human, explore and study. This has worked out pretty well... so far.

"We live in a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."
-Lovecraft, "The Call of Cthulhu"

Ludwig's poetic door may not be the Event Horizon door of Man, but it is a door on the path to an anarchy that not even a college student could enjoy. It is a glorious, shining path made of doors and candy that leads, of course, to madness.

And, Kay, you say? Kay is the personification of the letter "k", which, and it is abundantly clear, is a perverted Cross, not unlike the the dying of social institutions and the coming blood-dimmed tide forewarned by Yeats in "The Second Coming"--
"That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?"

The locked door in the picture... is that what God, in His mercy, is? A gatekeeper to shun us? Is He perhaps not All powerful, but merely the MOST powerful agent that cares for man enough to restrict us? Is all of His power locked in a lock on a door(Ludwig's door), hoping man can never pick the lock, or break it, or otherwise enter a shadow realm we were never meant for? It has long been thought that evil comes towards us. Perhaps it is we who march towards evil/truth?

So, we see, tis as clear as is the summer sun. Ludwig hopes to warn us of the dangers of employing Reason that are far more lamentable than that lamented by Rousseau.

K, Kay, OK MMMMMMMMMMMM?

Could Kay day signify the day that Ludwig finally reveals that he is indeed not Fiona Locke but is the spanking story writer, Joannie Kay.

Or is Ludwig going on a diet and that is the kitchen cupboard where he keeps his dieting cereal "Special K" and the diet begins on Wednesday. I do hope not, Ludwig you are too skinny as it is.

Did Ludwig's Irish house keeper announce that "I Finly found that bloody Kay" which opens the strange cupboard in his apartment, that all the strange noises come from. The 29th being opening day?

Or has Ludwig found irrefutable evidence that Sir Kay, the legendary King Arthur's adopted brother, was in fact a woman, insisting on her dark ages knightly rights, regardless of gender.

Honestly, I’m a bit hesitant about this. I’ve been following Ludwig’s wonderful blog for some time now, yes, but I don’t belong to the inner circle: I have met neither Ludwig nor any of the frequent posters, I don’t have email contact to anybody here, I don’t even have a blog of my own. In short, all I know about Ludwig is what I've read here in his blog. And yet, when I read the K-Day entry, I immediately thought: Well, that’s obvious!

I don’t claim that my theory is particularly interesting or artful, and I might be laughed at for being completely off the mark. But anyway – here we go.

K or Kay refers to either Klingon or K’Ehleyr. Now I’m not a Trekkie, and my knowledge and interest in Star Trek are limited to the first TV series. But I did notice the flirting that was going on between Ludwig and K’Ehleyr in the comment section of this blog: Ludwig, with the help of a dictionary, translating K’Ehleyr’s greetings, and receiving praise in return. K’Ehleyr complimenting Ludwig on his „good-looking smile“. And then, during the discussion about the severity and morality in Mood films, K’Ehleyr’s long comment that, to me at least, almost read like a declaration of love.

Short after that, Ludwig blogged about frequent „Klingon invasions“ and the discovery of his inner Trekkie. Moreover, his posting schedule, regular like a Swiss clockwork until then, started to lapse. In other words, the two spent more and more time together, in real life, and Ludwig couldn’t care less about his formerly sacrosanct posting routines.

The picture on his K-Day entry shows the shadows of Ludwig and K’Ehleyr, with K’Ehleyr taking the photo. I don’t know which wooden door is pictured here, if it is part of a Lupus set or Ludwig’s basement, nor do I know what lies behind. But whatever it is, according to the poem at least, there is no way back once the door is opened and the threshold crossed.

So Ludwig and K’Ehleyr are about to take the big step. Maybe they move in with each other, maybe they marry. Or, more likely, the will perform the Klingon Rite of Span’qIng together, with Ludwig acting as the „experienced Klingon arms Master in good standing“ (he might not be fluent in Klingon, but his participation in Mood and Lupus films make up for this). If this interpretation is correct, K-Day would be an important, but rather personal mark in their lives (unless, of course, they will post a video of the procedure).

But there is another, more public side to this interpretation. In his reports about the Mood shoot, Ludwig put the technique of cliff-hanging to good use and thus proved that he knows how to keep readers on the edge of their seats. In short, he knows how to generate attention. So maybe K-Day marks the birth of K’Ehleyr’s won blog, and Ludwig his helping out with a little extra PR. Or K’Ehleyr will, from that day on, become a regular contributor on Rohrstockpalast. Either way, I’ll be looking forward to it.

All the best to you!

For the last time, people, Klingons don't really exist! Now, our Mad Philosopher King Ludwig may pretend such belief for diabolical purposes that remain known only to him, but K day has a much more prosaic meaning.

Yes, the male figure in the picture is clearly a Mood Pictures and Lupus top of some repute, not all of which was generated on this blog. But I'm afraid that "K" stand only for "Keller," as he leads his new victim to a rather frightening subterranean dungeon. His petite victim? Ah, who knows? But I suspect we'll find out on K day, when Ludwig announces that he is starting his own spanking film site.

I believe he needs a sign for that door: Abandon Hope All Who Enter Here.

A weekend trawl of the blogs and all links back to this blog and post - I hate unsolved puzzles, it’s even worse than the mystery of an author true identity!

So, an exhaustive trawl of this blog for a clue or two left me now knowing lots of previously trivia such as Niki switching, Ms Woods making a posting error but I am sure will irritatingly make a last minute post with the correct answer!

So, our blog hosts likes Kill Bill and Klingon but without the benefit of a universal translator or even a English German translator, using Google as a search engine with some Kay (sic) words, lots of blind alleys and the odd link back to this thread. So, randomness is called for an I am going for a person from the spanking scene who likes a similar edgy genre as our blog host and the name Kami Robertson keeps springing to mind, very unscientific but my entry is a pet project with Kami.

Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it is past midnight and the competition is hereby officially closed. Thanks to you all for taking part. I'll announce the winner within the next 24 hours.

Niki: "What time on 29 July? I'm packing my aluminium foil hat just in case but I need to know the exact time."

I'd say, be prepared around noon.

Grrr, some last-minute delays here. Evening it will be, rather than noon.
